Data-backed decision making is the name of the game for innovative companies these days. You’ll have an incredible opportunity to make decisions based on volumes of data. Plus, being a data analyst allows you to help steer key stakeholders with their decision-making process. What’s a day in the life like for a recent grad working as a data analyst?
What’s a day in the life of a data analyst?
I usually get in and check my email to if anything should be prioritized for the day. Then, I spend the morning working through Excel looking for patterns and pulling data, mostly product and visitor information at an event level as my work tends to be mostly Micro level analysis. After lunch I’ll either keep looking deeper into interesting trends from the AM, or start putting together reports on what I’ve found that can be used to talk with the different vendors.
What do you love about your job?
It’s nice seeing my analyses being used to make decisions with our vendors. For the most part, I really enjoy the work, and it’s fun getting to work on different problems every day.
