What We Can Learn About Networking From Odie the Pug

Koru Networking Night is a chance for college students and grads in our program to get to know executives and hiring managers from great local companies. Every so often, there’s a stand-out. As we tell the program participants, people have been hired on the spot at networking night. While everybody brought it last night, the stand-out was clear. It was Odie, Odie the pug. odie6   Odie knew this was his time to shine and wowed everybody with his active listening skills.

Odie   During the informal networking, he worked the room and met 10 new people. odie3   Odie even set up a few informational interviews for later this week. Way to go, Odie. odie8   He had some trouble “breaking into groups” at first. odie1   But played it off cool by being all, “Oh look, something interesting over there.” Odie2   By the end of the night, he was exhausted.
